Dean,College of AgricultureThe College of Agriculture, Rani Lakshmi Bai Central Agricultural University, is located on the university's main campus in Jhansi (Uttar Pradesh). Established in 2014, the college aims to deliver high-quality education and training in agriculture and related sciences. Presently, the college has 10 departments with all infrastructural and lab facilities. At the UG level, the college offers B.Sc. Agriculture (Hons.) and B.Sc. Agriculture (Hons.) in Natural Farming degree programmes. To date, the college has graduated six batches of B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture. In the academic session 2023–24, the sanctioned strength of B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture increased to 80 students. The College offers M.Sc. (Ag.) in 10 disciplines, i.e., Agronomy, Genetics & Plant Breeding, Plant Pathology, Soil Science, Entomology & Agricultural Extension, with an intake of 6 students in each; M.Sc. in Molecular Biology & Biotechnology with an intake of 10 students, M.Sc. in Seed Science & Technology with an intake of 4 students; M.Sc. in Agricultural Economics with an intake of 3 students; and M.Tech in Soil and Water Conservation with an intake of 2 students.
1: The college offers doctoral degree programmes in five disciplines, viz., agronomy, genetics and plant breeding, plant pathology, soil science, and entomology, with an intake of two students in each discipline.
2: The college has successfully implemented two RKVY projects on mushroom production, beekeeping, and honey production. The B.Sc. Agriculture (Hons.) program offers an experiential learning program (ELP) on seed production technology, mushroom production technology, and organic production technology to enhance the students' skill and entrepreneurship development.
3: The College of Agriculture has a well-developed student research farm and laboratories to cater to the needs of students in UG and PG degree programs with quality teaching, research, and practical learning.
4: The college has state-of-the-art facilities, i.e., a fully air-conditioned academic building with smart class rooms and central research laboratories for effective delivery of the curriculum. The college is well equipped with farm machinery, a seed processing plant, a well-developed library, including an e-library, a crop cafeteria, etc.
5: Highly qualified and experienced faculty recruited through open competition support the college's teaching, research, and extension activities. The College of Agriculture faculty aims to train students to be skilled human resources so that they can contribute to ensuring the country's food and nutritional security in a sustainable environment. The passed-out students from the College of Agriculture have cleared various competitive and entrance exams at the national level.
6: The National Agricultural Education Accreditation Board (NAEAB) of ICAR, New Delhi, accredited the College of Agriculture for a period of 5 years in 2021.
